Why choose Abervet?
Having been established more than 35 years ago by Mr. David Wilson, Abervet has been fortunate to have experienced and caring vets ever since. As a team of vets, nurses, animal care assistants and reception staff we pride ourselves on building a close and trusting relationship with our clients and patients. We aim to offer existing and new clients a friendly and professional welcome along with a conscientious and compassionate service.
Abervet has two practices in Aberdeen, our main surgery being at Nigg Kirk Road and our branch surgery at The Courtyard, Cults. My skilled and loyal team consists of 4 vets (one of which provides acupuncture), 3 qualified nurses and 1 trainee nurse, 3 receptionists and a practice manager.
“A truly exceptional practice” Mr. Fullerton
Our aim is to provide the best quality of care and service that we can to all pets (and their owners) who come to us for either routine healthcare or when sick or injured. Our emphasis is always on compassionate care and we go to great lengths to make our patients and their owners feel welcome and at ease.
In addition to our expert skills (see pet clinics) we are family pet specialists. This means we provide 24 hour emergency care for dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets and other small furry or feathered animals. None of our vets are specialists in exotics but we can seek advice if necessary, so please feel free to ask.
Our practice is fully RCVS registered and we are a tier 2 accredited animal nurse training centre. Our high standards have allowed us to attract caring and skilled vets and nurses who wish to work in a friendly, client focussed environment. We believe that learning is key to maintaining a quality service and encourages innovation, and so have a personal development budget for all members of the team. Several of our vets are currently progressing towards specialist Certificate awards.
We provide a high level of equipment at our Nigg Kirk facility, to provide the best modern treatment for the well-being and comfort of your pet. This includes digital Xray, ultrasound, ECG and in-house laboratory.
To continue to be the local vet of choice based on our care and attention for your pet and our customer specific approach to you, and to improve the range of specialist services we offer in the form of dedicated clinics.
If your pet requires veterinary care please don’t hesitate to contact us and one of our skilled staff will be happy to be of assistance.
